To take on the next challenge you will have to dig deep. It won’t be easy but you will progress. There will be many moments when you feel like you want to give up and give in, but you’ve been through worse. Get back up, because you have more in you.
Throughout my 20s and 30s I have struggled balancing the things I ought to do and the things I want to do. It is no secret that sleeping and getting out of the house are healthy options in life, but let’s face it, being able to go all week with limited sleep in the effort to push out another seemingly random project to the city is the name of the game. After stamping that set of drawings, it does feel nice to take the team to celebrate with some adult beverages and definitely some terrible foods.
After making those choices in life, one too many times, a person might find themselves at risk of all sorts of health problems. It comes down to making a plan and sticking with it, even when things are tough. There will never be a perfect time to start, there will never be a perfect day, there will never be an easy way out. I learned this as I was moving increasingly closer to the 300 lb mark. One day it all changed, because I chose that day for enough to be enough. It was not easy, but it was worth it.
We often learn in studio that when a project is due, we can stay up for potentially days hammering at that final goal of perfection, and then have enough skill to present in a manner that doesn’t sound like gibberish. Well, this is all because it is in your mind, my friend. If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to obtain it. Make the goal of being something better and then just do it, no matter the time, day, or restriction. You are still alive, therefore you have not accomplished all you can. If you want to be healthy, go for it. If you want a better outlook on life, make it happen. If you want to travel more, go make it happen. I personally have made all of the above happen just by willing it to happen. Even when things get tough, (AREs, PMP, RCP, School) I know for sure I still have a little more in me, and with that, I can achieve my goals.
The easiest example of this whole concept can be demonstrated for those who walk or run already. If you spend some time running or walking on a treadmill for an hour, staring into a mirror or at a wall, you know that feeling of being bored. However, if you put some music, audio book, or video on and perform that same action, magically you’ve walked 35 minutes and had no idea. Nothing changed about you. You just had nothing holding you back this time.
Go for it!
I need to read your blogs more frequently they help keep me focused.
