To best identify how to improve, I must talk about where I’ve been. These next few posts will outline the overall journey from fat to fit(ish).
What is the first objective to getting fit? You guessed it. It is all about mindset! You cannot start your journey if you have no destination in mind.
As most of the drafters and architectural interns, I worked about 50-60 hours weekly while maintaining a full-time school load in my early 20s. Living in my car at times and constant stress made it easy to prioritize my career and education over health and inner-strength. Well, as you might have guessed, my 230lb average from high school climbed.
It was sad, really. I ate like I was never going to eat again and definitely nothing green. Co-Workers used to take me out to lunch to simply to WATCH me eat! Yeah, I was the carnival entertainment unleashed at the buffet.People liked to watch in horror and disgust while I ate. One particular sitting my numbers were 43 slices of pizza, which only remained that low because our lunch hour was over.
My normal diet was (2x) quadruple six-dollar-burgers (specially made) from Carl’s Jr., a large order of french fries, and a barrel of soda for lunch. Large pizza from a local place with breadsticks for dinner. Post-dinner would be about 2-2.5 lbs of pasta and 4 slices of bread dipped in butter. I would drink about 2.5 gallons of soda a day!
Next, I will talk about what changed and what would eventually stick as a life mantra.
Thank you!
